Indeed the products available from the Co-op housewares department on any given day can only be compared to the high-end kitchen ware items found in certain upscale boutiques and catalogues in malls throughout the country.

The Co-op housewares department prides itself in identifying and actively importing highly functional yet elegantly funky items, from high-end juicers and cuisinarts, stone bakeware, even coffee presses and tea-kettles to kitschy corn-holders, cheese shavers and serving spoons. Indeed if you think it might be available at any high-end kitchen shop, come check out the Co-op first. On any given day you’ll be able to choose from a variety of different disposable, yet fully re-usable plates, bowls and utensils made from recycled materials as diverse as banana leaves or palm fronds. We have full sets of plates, bowls with matching cups, utensils, napkins and placemats, if that suits your fancy; even providing a small line of skirts, hats and mommy-daughter matching kitchen aprons.

The kitchen gear and accoutrements can be found primarily at the front of the store but truly the housewares department is spread throughout the store. Indeed, in addition to the exceptional and eclectic supply of traditional houseware goods, the housewares gang works in conjunction with the produce department to provide a significant supply of fresh plants, herbs and flowers year round, but most poignantly throughout the warmer periods of the year. From fresh basil, rosemary and thyme to impressive hanging pots of zinnias and spider plant, starter kits of tomatoes, peppers and spices, or simply choose from any number seeds for growing any number of vegetables or flowers. The Co-op is your mini-greenhouse plant supplier from early spring thru fall, when you just have to have the plants but simply can’t make it to a greenhouse in time – we can satisfy that green-thumb urge!
