Tour de Coop
If you love chickens (and who doesn’t?) then you’ll want to indulge your backyard poultry fantasies at this Saturdays’ “Tour de Coop”, which the Boise Co-op is proud to sponsor along with North End Organic Nursery and the Treasure Valley Food Coalition (TVFC). Boise Tour de Coop – Saturday, September 11, 2010
Please join us for the inaugural Boise Tour de Coop! Bring your friends and family to take part in a unique adventure on a beautiful day, tour a variety of urban chicken farms, and celebrate the value of sustainable, local food production.
PART 1: Self-Guided Tour from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm – $5 per adult. Kids are free!
We’ve assembled a map of several local chicken coops. You take the map and visit each coop, or as many as you like, meet the urban farmers, and learn how your neighbors are contributing to the local food economy in the Treasure Valley.
Early registration: Go online to pre-register
Day-of registration: Information Booth, Capital City Public Market, Downtown Boise, 10 am Look for the Boise Tour de Coop organizers at the Info Booth on the morning of the tour to pay and get your map to start from downtown.
PART 2: After-party – FREE!
After you have experienced all the coops, join everyone at the Tour de Coop after party for food, drink, music, prizes, and community building. The after-party will take place at the North End Organic Nursery on 2350 Hill Road and will have food and beverage provided by the Boise Co-op. Bring your friends!
