Membership
Shopping at the Boise Co-op DOES NOT require membership! But membership has its
perks…
- Members of the Boise Co-op receive the list price for items in the store – non-members are charged a 10% surcharge.
- Member-only discounts and specials, including twice-a-month coupons good for 10% off an entire shopping visit.
- Quantity purchase discounts on selected items
- Email newsletters advertising sales, specials and seasonal buys within the store.
- Discounts and specials at various partner businesses around Boise.
Certain non-members will have the 10% surcharge waived – just inform the cashier at the time of check-out if you qualify as any of the following:
- Students with a valid student ID card
- Members of the military and immediate family members, with a valid military ID card – active or retired.
- Visitors to the Co-op that have traveled further than 200 miles from home to shop in our store.
- “First time” shoppers at the Co-op can receive a 30 day temporary membership card that removes the 10% surcharge
- Temporary cards are issued ONCE for each household and are only valid for the first 30 days of shopping.
Note: Customers using EBT/Quest/Food-stamps/etc. to purchase qualified items will have the 10% surcharge waived for their entire purchase – PROVIDED QUALIFIED ITEMS ARE PART OF THE ENTIRE PURCHASE
How do I join? Just go to the Customer Service desk and let them know which of the following membership options fits you best:
There is a one-time fee of $65 to become a lifetime member of the Boise Co-op. This membership fee is fully refundable should you leave the area or simply wish to cancel.
Payment can be made in full at the time you sign up for a membership.
Or for a non-refundable administration fee of $15 a pay-as-you-go 5% Plan is available that will charge an additional 5% surcharge to the total purchase price for each visit to the Co-op; the surcharge is applied to the $65 membership fee until the fee is paid in full.
Senior Citizens over the age of 63 receive a complementary membership.
Low-income Waiver memberships are available – see Customer Service in the store for details.
Fully Refundable: Your membership fees are an investment in the Co-op and are refundable should you move from the area or simply no longer wish to remain a member at any time for any reason. Simply fill out a short form and return your membership cards to our Customer Service counter. Refund checks are sent out once a month; just let us know where you would like your refund check mailed.
