A lifelong love of animals and a friendship rooted in McCall inspire author Niki LeClair and illustrator Janet Murphy's whimsical children's books. Some of Niki's earliest poems began in childhood, including a song she wrote at age seven about wanting a horse. Decades later, Janet imagined those words brought to life through watercolor, and critterstory was born. Together, their books celebrate memorable animals, playful storytelling, and the joy of connecting with the critters around us.
